- This guide has been put together by a teacher for
- teachers and children to use in the classroom.
- It will give them not just directions but a valuable
- introduction in the use of some popular Archimedes
- applications. By explaining in simple terms the
- important procedures and some of the facilities
- available, the confidence gained will inspire the
- child to go on to use some of the more advanced
- facilities available. It is written so to instill
- good practice and give confidence and understanding
- when it comes to using other applications too.
- The twin booklet “Rom with a view” has been put
- together to give the all important background
- understanding in using the Archimedes computers and
- particularly for “working in the desk top” and should
- be used alongside this booklet.
-
- The guide has been written assuming that you
- have a “Start” disc which has a system directory,
- scrap directory and a printers application on and
- separate discs for each application complete with
- their support material.
- It has been written for floppy disc computers
- such as the A3000 but, if there is interest, it
- could be rewritten as a separate document for
- hard disc systems.
- If you are unsure of how the floppy discs
- have been organised and would like to follow
- the same system, please do contact me.
